Durable Roofing with Duradek

“What’s in a name? That which we call a rose

By any other name would smell as sweet.”

Romeo and Juliet, William Shakespeare

Similarly, Duradek by any other name would be just as strong, durable, and slip-resistant by any other name. But unlike with a rose, part of those benefits are right in the name. For years, Duradek has been providing this wonderful material for decks, patios, and yes, even roofs. Keep reading to learn more about the magic of Duradek.

Duradek

Putting the “Dura-” in “-dek”

Originally created to waterproof decks and balconies, the uses of Duradek expand far beyond that now. For flat roofs and rooftop decks, Duradek is a long-lasting solution with many benefits.

Durability and Safety

Thanks, captain obvious. In all seriousness, though, Duradek is a durable roofing solution that will stand up to excessive foot traffic, harsh weather, and anything else you can throw at it better than any alternatives. It was built to last, and won’t peel, chip, delaminate, or crack, even in high-traffic, high-use areas. Its toughness against damage in combination with its no-slip texture also make it incredibly safe to walk on.

Waterproof

Over 40 years ago, Duradek set out to accomplish waterproofing in a way that liquid-applied waterproofing simply cannot, and they have certainly succeeded in that endeavor. The vinyl-based material acts as an impermeable membrane to keep water out, preventing roof leaks and water damage.

Quick and Easy

Duradek can also be installed quickly and used immediately thereafter, making it incredibly convenient for finishing a job with durable roofing. Many roofing customers, whether we’re talking about residential roof decks or commercial flat roofs, can’t afford to have the project drag on for days, potentially hindering usage of the space. There’s no mixing, no mess, and no smell. It’s simply rolled out, glued down, and mechanically fastened at the edges. Sheets are then welded together with hot air to form a completely waterproof surface.
